Michael Leong is the Senior Executive Director of SAA Architects, a practice headquartered in Singapore with over 50 years of design and delivery expertise, and co-leads the Architecture and Design service line within the SJ Group. A strong believer in placing the needs of people and the community at the centre of any design solution, he has been instrumental in driving the firm’s vision, philosophy, and many key projects.

Having spent his formative years at Singapore’s Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) before joining SAA in 2008, Michael leverages on his experiences both as an architect and planner to create spaces and buildings that positively impact the communities at both micro and macro scales. He has strong expertise in Healthcare, Residential, Mixed-Use and Transit-Oriented Developments (TODs), and is a sought-after speaker at forums and industry engagements. Some of his notable completed projects include public residential projects like Eastlink I and II @ Canberra; healthcare developments such as Woodlands Health Campus and St Joseph’s Home; as well as large-scale, mixed-use, transport integrated retail malls like Northpoint City and jem.
